WhatsApp’s new group limits have been in place since 2016 but now they will be increasing even further.

Recently, WhatsApp has been fast to provide new features to its well-known messaging service. The firm is now testing the ability to add more participants to group chats after recently releasing the option to leave groups quietly (via Twitter). Over time, WhatsApp has increased the number of group members by a factor of two, and another rise is imminent. Let’s examine every single aspect in this essay.

WhatsApp Groups Can Now Have 1,024 People

For the longest time, WhatsApp users could only add 256 people to a group discussion. Just a few months ago, this restriction was increased to 512 participants along with the introduction of a new WhatsApp calling UI and support for up to 32 callers.

The messaging app is currently trying to expand the group membership limit once more, according to a recent tip from WABetaInfo. Recent beta releases for Android and iOS (version 2.22.21.74) test the addition of up to 1,024 users to a single group conversation in WhatsApp. This appears to be another another critical step in favour of the next messaging app’s Communities feature release.

You will now see the new 1,024 person restriction when establishing a new WhatsApp group, as seen in the pictures above.

However, in order to use the function, you will need to be one of the exclusive group of fortunate beta testers. We made an independent attempt to confirm these allegations, but neither the iOS beta nor the Android beta version of the functionality is available to us.

A list of pending group invitations is another feature WhatsApp is working on in addition to the higher group chat member capacity. As a result, the admins will have access to fresh invites and the authority to accept your request to join a group. However, the impending capability to design polls within WhatsApp is the one about which we are most enthusiastic. Yes, the messaging app is now testing the ability to create polls in beta with a small number of users.
