Google will designate sponsored adverts as such in mobile search results.

In an effort to make it easier for people to distinguish between sponsored and organic content, Google has announced that it will label adverts with the word “sponsored” in mobile search results.

The business stated that it now wants the label to be noticeable and obvious on all forms of sponsored content.

Instead of the previous “Ad” tag, paid results will now include a “sponsored” tag in bold, huge letters.

According to Mona Vajolahi, Group Product Manager, Search, “This new label and its prominent position continues to fulfil our high criteria for being distinguished from search results and builds on our prior efforts to make information about paid content evident.”

The updated search results page is already rolling out progressively to mobile devices and will shortly reach desktop search results. In order to make it simple to quickly identify the website that is linked with each result, Google said it is also adding site names to search results on mobile.

“To improve visibility on the page, we are also changing the size and form of the favicon, which is a website’s logo or symbol that displays in Search. In order to improve clarity and advertising transparency at a glance, we’ll extend these modifications to Search advertisements “the business informed.

People use Google to find information from a variety of sources and media, including large corporations and independent authors of text, photos, and video.
