WhatsApp now allows iPhone users to check in using their email addresses: Here’s how it works

WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is adding an email address capability to iOS. This feature will allow iPhone users to link their WhatsApp account to an email address.

While the new feature is not included in the App Store’s official changelog, WABetaInfo, a well-known WhatsApp tipster blog, has confirmed that WhatsApp is launching the option to tie an email address with a WhatsApp account.

On iOS, WhatsApp is introducing an email address capability. This feature will allow iPhone users to link their WhatsApp account to an email address.

To check if the feature is rolled out to your WhatsApp account, go to the WhatsApp Settings > Account.

The email address option will be beneficial as a backup, especially when consumers are having trouble getting SMS texts.

It’s worth noting, however, that users will still be able to log into WhatsApp via the normal method, which entails sending a 6-digit number via SMS.

While adding an email address to a WhatsApp account adds an additional login option, users will still need a phone number to establish a new account.

If you haven’t yet gotten the new feature, please be patient as it is presently being rolled out.

The new feature, in our opinion, attempts to improve the user experience and account security on WhatsApp by providing users with more choices for accessing and restoring their accounts if necessary.

WhatsApp just introduced a new audio chat option for big groups. Instead of a call, group members will receive a push notice to join the voice chat once you start it. Only groups of 33 to 128 persons can use the new audio chat option. Members of the group who are not in the voice chat can view the profiles of those who are in the voice chat via the chat header and the Calls tab.
