Windows has a feature called mouse acceleration that quickens pointer movement. Users can only occasionally move their Mouse back and forth thanks to the feature. Here, we’ll show you how to disable mouse acceleration using a few straightforward steps.
Depending on how quickly and how far you move the mouse, the mouse acceleration feature decides how far your mouse pointer moves. How quickly you move the mouse determines how far the pointer moves in a straight line. Therefore, the on-screen pointer moves a greater distance the faster you move the Mouse. All of the most recent iterations of Windows, including Windows 10 and 11, have the capability.
If you don’t want mouse acceleration, you can turn it off on your computer.
The on-screen mouse cursor will move the same distance when the functionality is off, regardless of how quickly you are travelling. That is, except the pace at which you move the Mouse, it will depend on how far you move it.
On your Windows computer, you may stop mouse acceleration from the mouse settings; similarly, you can do the same on Mac OS X by going to system preferences or the Terminal.
TWO WAYS YOU CAN DISABLE MOUSE ACCELERATION IN WINDOWS 11
METHOD 1: DISABLE MOUSE ACCELERATION VIA WINDOWS SETTINGS
The simplest approach to turn off mouse acceleration on your Windows 11 computer is as follows: Open the Bluetooth & devices option in the left sidebar of Windows Settings. Click on Mouse at the bottom of the page to modify the settings. Click the Additional mouse settings choices under Mouse settings. Uncheck the box next to “Enhance pointer precision” on the Pointer Options tab at the top of the pop-up window. On your Windows computer, the mouse acceleration will be deactivated.
METHOD 2: TURN OFF THE MOUSE VIA CONTROL PANEL (FOR SPECIFIC MOUSE)
By typing “control” into the Windows search box, get to the Control Panel on your Windows 11 PC. The Control Panel can then be chosen from the results. You’ll see the “Icons” view when the control panel first appears. Choose Devices and Printers from the menu here. Right-click the mouse again and select Mouse Settings. There will be a pop-up window for Mouse Properties. Uncheck the option to “enhance pointer precision” by scrolling to the Pointer Options. Finally, press Apply to save your modifications to the device.
