How to schedule an online appointment for this Covid nasal vaccination with Incovacc

By Bharat Biotech, a new COVID booster called Incovacc has been introduced by the Indian government. The incovacc vaccination can be administered nasally. The Cowin website allows users to reserve timeslots for the Covid nasal vaccination.

All people above the age of 18 can get incovacc, which acts as a booster dosage. Incovacc is a heterologous booster dosage, and those who have already had Covishield or Covaxin injections can receive this Covid nasal vaccination as a booster shot, according to an NDTV article. However, at the time, it is exclusively offered in private immunization facilities.

According to a TOI article, this vaccination will be administered twice through the nose, with a four-week interval between each dosage. Each dosage will consist of eight drops, or four per nostril.

When the temperature is between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius, incovacc doesn’t change. As previously stated, it will initially only be offered by private hospitals, and the price of this vaccination has not yet been determined.

The nasal route has significant promise for vaccination because to the organized immune systems of the nasal mucosa, according to Bharat Biotech, which promotes this nasal vaccine. It is not just useful for those who are frightened of needles. Additionally, it gets rid of the danger and diseases that come with using needles. The fact that the immunization doesn’t need skilled medical personnel to deliver it is an added bonus.

3000 individuals participated in the vaccine phase 3 study, and after receiving two doses spaced four weeks apart, they shown excellent immunity. Incovacc side effects include headache, fever, runny nose, and sneezing.

The same Cowin portal that was used to reserve a spot for the COVID vaccine previously may be used to reserve a spot for the Incovacc Covid Nasal Vaccine Booster, or you can go to https://www.cowin.gov.in.

1. Sign in to Cowin website with your registered phone number. You’ll have to enter the OTP you receive on your mobile phone to authenticate the login. 

2. Schedule and look for the private vaccination centre. You can search via Pincode or district name.

3. Choose the closest centre to your place. Also, pick the preferred date and time for the appointment. 

4. Confirm the slot.
