Amazon has launched an ad-supported free video streaming service, called MiniTV within the Amazon India app. To be clear, it is different from the Amazon Prime Video service as it is present within the Amazon shopping app instead of being a standalone video streaming app. However, the ‘MiniTV’ free video streaming is only available for Android and it isn’t available for iOS at the moment. It comes as a competitor to the Walmart-owned Flipkart Video streaming service that was launched back in 2019.

What is Amazon MiniTV free video streaming service?

Amazon MiniTV is available to Indian users only and it includes a wide content catalogue, which is mostly available on YouTube and other platforms. It covers various genres such as fashion, beauty, tech news, cooking shows, and content from partners such as Pockey Aces, TVF, among others. It also includes content from comedians including Shruti Arjun Anand, Elvish Yadav, Swagger Sharma, Amit Bhadana, Harsh Beniwal, Prajakta Koli, and others. Amazon says that it has new and exclusive videos coming in the next few months but a timeline hasn’t been revealed.

How to use Amazon MiniTV?

Firstly, the Amazon MiniTV video streaming, as said, is available in the Amazon shopping app. To use the free streaming service, firstly, you need to update the app from Google Play Store. Once done, the MiniTV icon can be seen right below the search bar. Tapping the icon will take you to the MiniTV content catalogue. All the listed content is free to watch and doesn’t require any subscription. However, the service is only available for Android at the moment but the company says it will be extended to iOS app and mobile web over the coming months.
