Airchat: New audio-based social media app is here.. to stay or just 2 mins of fame?
Newly popular, invite-only social networking app Airchat is all the rage. It is the creation of Brian Norgard, a co-founder of Tinder, and Naval Ravikant, the founder of AngelList. You will need to wait for an invitation from someone to use the app before you can use it.
It would be named Airchat if Clubhouse and X (previously known as Twitter) had a kid. No, this is not a hoax. Newly popular, invite-only social networking app Airchat is all the rage. Why is it so special? As opposed to other social networking sites, this one uses audio. I suppose the creators created this because they were so fascinated with podcasts. Speaking of founders, Brian Norgard, co-founder of Tinder, and Naval Ravikant, creator of AngelList, are the minds behind Airchat.
How does Airchat work?
Thus, to help us comprehend, Airchat and X are rather similar. Here, the distinction is that it is audio-based rather than text- or image-based. We can submit audio notes here, just like we upload text, photos, and videos on X. You also get a transcribed text with every post. Users have the option to read the transcription just or to listen to the audio.
All you have to do is press the microphone button to start recording audio and share it. Along with the audio, you will also receive a real-time transcription. Even audio notes can be used by users to respond to your postings.
How can you use it?
Airchat is an invite-only platform, as I said earlier. This lends it its “exclusive” quality, much like Raya, a celebrity favorite. Thus, you will need to wait for an invitation from someone to use the app. Unwanted voices have no place there. However, the software may be found on Google Play Store as well as software Store. After downloading the program, it will go through your contact list to determine which of your contacts are already users. After that, you can ask to be invited.
